Do I need a permit to place a prefab or container home on my land?
In most US counties and cities, yes — a permit is required. Rules vary widely depending on your location, zoning classification, and whether the home will be a primary residence or ADU. We help you understand your local requirements before you commit to an order, and we can guide you through the permit process in most states. Contact us with your ZIP code and we’ll give you a realistic picture for your area.
What foundation do I need before delivery?
Foundation requirements depend on your model, soil type, and local building codes. Common options include pier foundations, concrete slab, and steel chassis. We’ll specify the exact requirements for your chosen model in your quote. You arrange the foundation preparation; we handle everything else.
What if I want to customize my home?
Our factory fully supports OEM/ODM customization — layouts, room configurations, exterior finishes, window placement, and internal fixtures. Custom orders are quoted separately and add 2–4 weeks to the production timeline. The more specific you are in your request, the more accurately we can quote it.
What happens if something breaks after delivery?
All Smart Nest Homes come with a structural warranty. For rental units, we cover structural and mechanical issues — just contact us and we dispatch. For purchased units, our warranty covers structural defects and system failures within the warranty period. We’ll clarify the exact terms in your purchase agreement.
Can I see a home before I buy or rent?
We don’t currently have permanent showroom locations in every state, but we do have installations you can visit in some areas. Contact us with your location — we’ll let you know if there’s a completed unit near you that we can arrange a visit to. We also provide detailed photo galleries, interior walkthrough photos, and video content for every model.
How do I know my home will look like the photos?
Because your home is built from the same spec sheet, by the same factory team, using the same materials shown in our photos. We don’t outsource manufacturing. Every unit goes through digital quality control and a final inspection before shipping. Your purchase agreement includes the exact spec sheet — we’re legally committed to delivering what’s on it.
